Boulder Editors (BE) members are experienced individuals who work independently of each other (but often collaborate), have different subject specialties, and maintain separate rate structures and contracts. Although membership criteria are rooted in editorial expertise, BE members may also provide publishing support, writing/coaching, and other writing- and publishing-related services.
BE is a dues-supported organization. It is not an employer, nor does it act as an endorsing organization. The association is overseen by an executive director, an advisory board, and a membership committee.
BE holds membership meetings about six times a year. The organization also sponsors educational events for the public on occasion.
BE is an inclusive organization of editorial professionals run entirely by member volunteers. Eligibility for membership is based on experience and skills—and the ability to attend meetings and participate in other support capacities.
